Who is Sherry Boone and what does she know about singing? Sherry Boone has been singing professionally for over fifteen years. Her Broadway credits include Jelly's Last Jam starring Gregory Hines and Tonya Pinkins,the starring role in Lincoln Center Theater's Marie Christine for which she received critical acclaim from the New York Times,and Master Class starring Dixie Carter, Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, Leslie Uggams, and Maria Tucci. Her opera roles include Cindy Lou in London's Royal Festival Hall production of Carmen Jones, Pamina in The Magic Flute and Mimi in La Boheme. She has performed at Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center and with the Philadelphia Orchestra. In May 2006 at Lincoln Center Jazz's An Evening Honoring Noble Prize Laureate Toni Morrison, Ms Boone's interpretation of Previn and Morrison's Take My Mother Home moved President William Jefferson Clinton and Ms. Morrison herself to lead a standing ovation.
Ms. Boone is also founder and Artistic Director of Opera at Home, a cutting edge Opera Company dedicated to increasing the audience of opera all over the globe by creating a "heart-to-heart exchange" between audience and artist. Will I learn to sing lots of songs with Sherry Boone? The student will learn a few basic songs aimed specifically for developing a strong foundation for producing sound. Will Sherry Boone help me with audition material? Sherry will approach your audition material as follows: You will sing one line at a time as a vocal exercise so your voice sings your repertoire with freedom, focus and confidence. By practicing these exercises, you feel and hear your voice singing with focus and freedom. Sherry Boone can also recommend an accredited vocal coach to coach you for auditions.

Sherry will have you singing your favorite song in a key best suited to your voice. You will then apply Sherry's exercises and sing joy and abandon! Back to Top
What if I just want a trial lesson? a. Someone once said, "any muscle that is exercised gets stronger." You and your voice will best benefit from regular conditioning of what Sherry has to offer by experiencing a series of lessons.
